Are you interested in
becoming a Firefighter? Do you know what Firefighters do? Do you know what
kind of schooling it takes to become a Firefighter? How hard is the job?
Will I like the job? How do I get started in the career?
If you are interested in becoming a Firefighter, you
probably have some of these same questions in your head. One way to learn
about this career while you are a young adult is to become a Fire Explorer.
Let me explain what the Explorer Post is all about.
The Post
The Spring Grove Fire Explorer Post 1800,
is a youth based program open to young adults between the ages of 15 and 21.
The post began in 2007 and is sponsored by the Spring Grove Fire Protection
District and chartered by The Boy Scouts of America. Exploring is a co-ed
division of the Boy Scouts of America. The purpose of the Explorer Post is
to expose these young adults to a possible career field, and to let them
learn about and participate in the Fire and EMS field. This opportunity will
help the Explorers determine if this is a career they want to pursue.
